Did you know Sound creates an electrical response in your brain
When you listen to music, often times you find yourself tapping your fingers, toes or even moving your entire body to its rhythm. What has happened is that your brain has fallen into sync with the beat of the music. And, depending on the type of music you listen to, you can feel a wide range of emotions from joy to sadness to anger; all of which are generated by the “feeling” of the music' rhythm.
Like music, Brainwave Entrainment utilizes your brain’s response to rhythmic sensory stimulation or “beat”. The rhythm is replicated in your brain as a form of electrical response and your brain begins to respond by synchronizing to the rhythm.
When you listen to brainwave entrainment mimicking natural brainwaves, which induce the desired state of mind, your brain begins to respond by synchronizing its electrical response to the rhythm or “beat” of what is being listened to. For example, a 7Hz brainwave is associated with a deep meditative state, so listening to a 7Hz wave pattern would help reproduce a deep meditative state in the brain.
In Way to Shine brainwave entrainment products; small, rapid pulses (the brainwave entrainment) mimicking a desired mental state are imbedded. As the entrainment progresses, the frequency rate of these pulses slowly changes, helping facilitate a change in brainwave patterns and guiding your mind more quickly to your desired mental state.
Throughout your day, you experience different states of mind, which have unique electrical responses in your brain.
Brainwave types and associated mental states
Stimulation of gamma brain waves is associated with active concentration, meditative states, improved creativity, language and cognitive enhancement, and migraine prevention (in the case of migraines which are preceded by warning signs).
27 hertz and up
Stimulation of beta brain waves is associated improvement in verbal/reading skills, academic achievement, reduced fatigue and increased attention/ability to focus. This is generally the mental state most people are in during the day and most of their waking lives.
12.5hz - 15hz. SMR is a slower form of beta brain waves. It is associated with calm motor activities, yet an attentive/focused state of mind.
12 to 38 hertz
Stimulation of alpha brain waves is associated with pain relief, reduction of stress and anxiety, memory recall, and meditative states. It also enhances the vividness of visualization techniques.
8 to 12 hertz
Stimulation of theta brain waves is associated with anxiety reduction, hypnotic induction, day dreaming, lucid dreams and zen meditative states. Theta is also known as the hyper-suggestible state, where mental programming through the use of recorded affirmations is most effective.
3 to 8 hertz
Delta is the slowest band of brainwaves. Stimulation of delta brain waves is associated with anxiety reduction, headache relief and improved sleep. It is theorized Delta waves have specific effects on the limbic system. The limbic system affects emotions and the control of autonomic functions. Delta frequencies appear to appear to be effective in reducing migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and blood pressure.
